Initial draft of our poster

We used Microsoft Publisher to create our film poster as we thought this best suited the layout and plan of our original idea. After researching rom-com posters we decided that using bright colours was an original convention and suited our genre well and would attract the audience. A problem we faced was that the names of our actors looked a little off balance so we changed them to make a better balance and equivalence and make the poster look more pleasing to the eye. We used a tag line on our poster which is a convention that isn't always used but it helps explain a bit of our story and is an interesting focal point for the audience. We put this underneath so that it doesn't take away the focus of the actors names and title. The billing block we researched into to find out what sort of things they wrote and made it up to something that is similar using our own names although we did use a real rom-com directors name to give more reality to the poster. We decided to say that the film was coming out in the summer as it was a teaser so there wouldn't have been a definite date. We also added a film website so that people interested could have a better look for more information. We are thinking for the picture to put the main couple on a bench with the title next to it so it is eye-catching and is different.
