Romantic Comdey Film Poster Research

We decided to research actual rom-com film posters for inspiration and ideas for our own. Even though ive already rsearched film posters, looking at rom-com ones shows us what is specific to that genre.

This is so simple and basic but it makes the right impact. Where the usual billing block would have been it is all part of the dress. This shows that the dress is a main part in the film and as everything is part of the dress it shows just how important it is.

The title shows the audience that its about the man and he is a main part in the film. Its again quite simplistic with just the main characters in the foreground. With the women in the background blurred it puts even more focus on the main characters which is a good technique.

The Bridget Jones poster has the usual colours and main characters but the difference is the billing block is at the top rather than the bottom but this is so that the picture is more focused upon. The arrows are a great focul point and it is something that is quite different to anything else.

This poster keeps in the convention of the romantic colours. This poster instantly shows that it attracts a younger audience with the way she is positioned as she seems shy and immature.

This is another simplistic poster showing the two main characters and following all of the conventions with the actors names, billing block and title. This shows it is for an older audience though as the colours aren't the typical bright colours.

500 Days Of Summer doesn't follow the conventions of a typical poster. Everythign is in his t-shirt and this doesn't make anything stand out particularly. But the film itself doens't follow in the typical way either so perhaps this works as they reflect each toher.
